Leatherwork

Leatherwork is back, and Steve is excited to give students the opportunity to get creative with a range of leather projects. There are 3 class options for different ages and experiences. Please see the requirements below and register your kiddo for the most appropriate class option.

Beginners - No experience required, age 7+

Basic - Have done a previous leatherwork class, age 8+ update: CLASS FULL

Advanced - Previous experience with leatherwork, can do sticking, cutting etc…, age 10+ update: CLASS FULL

Group Size: 3 minimum, 6 maximum

Child Requirements: None

Tutor:  Steve Cox - Church elder, builder and general handyman

Cost: $60 / child / term


Hand-stitch and Embroidery Intermediate

This is an opportunity for kids to create their own felt needle book, complete with their own embroidered design on the front and filled with sections to keep their needles, pins, small scissors, and other small crafty things tidy. We will use skills learned during the previous classes this year, and will build the students confidence in creating with the instruction of a teacher, as well as at home by themselves. 

Because we only have a six week term, it is possible that students may not complete their project, in which case Indi is more than happy to assist outside of class time so that each child goes home with their felt needle book!

Age Suitability: 8+ yrs of age

Group Size: 3 minimum, 10 maximum

Child Requirements: Prior attendance in the beginners class.

Tutor:  Indi Bezant - 15 year old tutor, experienced in the skill of embroidery

Cost: $50 / child / term


Nature Play

Nature Craft is continuing in term 4 and we are so looking forward to getting back onto the beach, being creative, and sometimes getting dirty, as we explore God’s creation together! Come prepared to have lots of fun and perhaps get a little wet and dirty.

Parents are encouraged to join the fun!

Age Suitability: 3-10 yrs of age

Group Size: 20 maximum

Student Requirements: Clothes that can get wet/dirty and that will keep them warm

Tutor: Mike Bezant - Pastor, and lover of outdoor things

Cost: Free (Part of the Little Gatherers Co-op.)


Song Explorers

Song Explorers is a fun and friendly music class for kids aged 3-10 (other ages welcome - just chat with Saffron!). We’ll sing songs, learn actions, play with rhythm, and explore the sounds and shapes of music together. Each week we’ll warm up our voices, move to the beat, and learn about melody, harmony, and musical form in a playful hands-on way. Whether your child sings with confidence or is still finding their voice, we’ll build musical understanding and performance skills together - and have a great time doing it!

Parents are encouraged to join the fun!

Age Suitability: 3-10 yrs of age

Child Requirements: None

Tutor: Saffron - Music teacher, professional jazz singer, and experienced Choir leader.

Cost: $5 / session / child (Part of the Little Gatherers Co-op.)


All-In Choir

All-In Christmas Choir – Everyone in the Room Sings! 🎶

No experience needed. Just voices, joy, and festive spirit!

The All-In Choir is a fun, relaxed Christmas singing open to all ages — if you’re in the room, you’re in the choir! We’ll sing classic and uplifting Christmas songs together each week, with an optional community performance in December.

Age Suitability: All-in (adults included)

Student Requirements: Bring your enthusiasm, and a willingness to sing from the heart.

Tutor: Saffron - Music teacher, professional jazz singer, and experienced Choir leader.

Cost: $50 / child or adult


High School Math Tutoring

This is an opportunity for high school age students to receive tutoring in areas of Math that is proving troublesome for student and parent alike. Some Math curriculum will be provided and worked through, however in addition to this, students are required to bring their regular math curriculum each week, with questions and/or lessons circled that have been difficult to grasp. In a group setting and working side by side, we will work toward filling the gaps that have formed within student’s understanding of key math concepts.

Age Suitability: High School Age

Group Size: 15 Maximum

Student Requirements: Pencil and paper, BYO Math curriculum

Tutor: Dave Ramsay - High School Math teacher.

Electronic Engineering 101

An introduction into electricity and simple circuits. Students will learn the foundations of how electricity and circuits work, and develop the skills to build simple circuits. This is a very hands-on class with a good dose of knowledge and information. All students will have the opportunity to design, create and take home their own LED artwork by the end of the term. All materials are provided.

Age Suitability: 7-11 yrs of age

Group Size: 10 maximum

Student Requirements: Nil

Tutor: Astin Cole-Piper - Teacher at Cornerstone Christian School

Cost: $100/child, $60/sibling


Mechanical Robotics (Intro)

This class is a follow on from the Electronic Engineering class. We will look at robotic function, design and purpose while building various robots along the way. This is a very hands-on class with little instruction from me. Students will be taught fundamentals, shown examples and lead through creating 2-3 simple robots. Students will then have the opportunity to design and create their own motorised robot to take home by the end of term. All materials are provided.

Counterfeit Christianity

In this class we will explore the most common counterfeits of Christianity, evaluating their beliefs against the truths found in Scripture to ensure firstly that we are not being deceived, and then secondly to determine how we might reach them with the gospel.

Age Suitability: High School Age

Group Size: 10 maximum

Student Requirements: Bible, notepad and pen
