Hand-stitch and Embroidery for beginners
In this class, students will learn the basics of handstitching and embroidery, beginning with threading a needle and tying off a stitch. Students will learn a total of 5 stitches, the running stitch, backstitch, whip stitch, blanket stitch, and the French knot. They’ll even learn how to stitch on a button. We will learn to improve upon neat, even stitches, and the students will put their knowledge to use, making felt donuts, pin cushions, and embroidered ornaments. The stitches and knowledge the students will learn, by the end of the term will allow for them to play around with simple embroidery at home, as well as creating felt food.

Nature Craft
Nature Craft is continuing in term 2 and we are so looking forward to getting outside, being creative, and sometimes getting dirty, as we explore God’s creation together! Even though sometimes we may get a little wet. Come prepared to have lots of fun and perhaps get a little dirty.

Student Requirements: Clothes that can get wet/dirty and that will keep them warm

Adventures in Odyssey
We believe storytelling an incredibly effective way for kids to grow their faith, learn Biblical events and truths, and know Jesus in a fun, engaging way.
That’s why this term we are again facilitating Adventures in Odyssey, an audio entertainment series for kids to engage their imagination with faith-filled stories full of wonder and discovery. This is a wind down session for your kiddos.
Adventures in Odyssey makes it fun for kids to learn Biblical values and truths so that your family can thrive in Christ.

Song Explorers
Song Explorers is a fun and friendly music class for kids aged 3-10 (other ages welcome - just chat with Saffron!). We’ll sing songs, learn actions, play with rhythm, and explore the sounds and shapes of music together. Each week we’ll warm up our voices, move to the beat, and learn about melody, harmony, and musical form in a playful hands-on way. Whether your child sings with confidence or is still finding their voice, we’ll build musical understanding and performance skills together - and have a great time doing it!

Child Requirements: None
Tutor: Saffron - Music teacher, professional jazz singer, and experienced Choir leader.

Band - Jam Session
A fun an engaging opportunity to get together with friends and jam. This will be a guided process with the hope of moving the group toward more autonomy with their jaming!
This will be a 30 min session during the lunch break.
Age Suitability: 10+ yrs of age
Group Size: Minimum of 3, maximum of 6
Student Requirements: Some experience and interest in an instrument or singing. BYO instrument.

High School Math Tutoring
This is an opportunity for high school age students to receive tutoring in areas of Math that is proving troublesome for student and parent alike. Some Math curriculum will be provided and worked through, however in addition to this, students are required to bring their regular math curriculum each week, with questions and/or lessons circled that have been difficult to grasp. In a group setting and working side by side, we will work toward filling the gaps that have formed within student’s understanding of key math concepts.
Age Suitability: High School Age
Group Size: 15 Maximum
Student Requirements: Pencil and paper, BYO Math curriculum
Tutor: Dave Ramsay - High School Math teacher with Australian Christian College.
Cost: $70 / student / term
In + Out
This term we’ll be doing some fun activities INdoors and OUTdoors. Over the 7-week term we’ll do riding, cooking, mini golf, archery and craft. So if you like changing it up each week, then this class is for you!
Age Suitability: 10+ yrs of age
Group Size: 15 maximum
Student Requirements: Must be able to ride a bike. BYO bike on the bike days.

Cost: $80 / student / term
Learn to Play the Guitar
We are very excited to be offering guitar lessons this term at the hub. In this course, students will learn foundational guitar skills, such as reading tablature, plucking and picking, strumming and basic chords.
40 min sessions
Age Suitability: 2 classes, with students in one of the following age groups
- Age 8-11 (includes students turning 8 this year)
- Age 12-17
Group Size: Each class maximum of 5 students.
Student Requirements: - Students will require a folder for music sheets and an acoustic 6 string guitar to use.
Tutor: Ben Cole Piper - Home school dad, and an accomplished guitarist, with experience teaching both one-on-one and in a group setting.
Cost: $105 / student / term.
Bible Class
Our theme for this term is still yet to be determined. But as is normal, we will be opening up the Bible together and searching the Scriptures, in an informal and fun setting.
Age Suitability: 11+ yrs of age
Group Size: 20 maximum
Student Requirements: Bible, notebook, pen and pencil.
