FUN Juniors

The FUN Juniors (5-8yrs) class builds on core Fundamental Movement Skills through a greater focus on game-play, cooperative partner/team work and lots of fun! Younger students who have mastered the core skills are welcome to join, although the type of games activities are tailored to slightly older kids. Younger siblings welcome to play around us. All of the equipment will be provided. The Little Gatherers Co-op finishes, following this 30 min FUN Juniors Class.

Age Suitability: 5-8 yrs of age

Group Size: 15 maximum

Child Requirements: Wear sport appropriate clothing and shoes..

Tutor: Astin Cole Piper - Teaching throughout the South West since 2009. B. Arts in Youth, Health and Physical Activity, B. Social Science.

Cost: $5 / child / session (Part of the Little Gatherers Co-op.)


Leatherwork

A fun an engaging opportunity to learn the basics of leatherwork. Students will learn basic leather cutting, lace stitching, and will make a leather wallet or hand purse.

Age Suitability: 10+ yrs of age

Group Size: 3 classes of 6 maximum

Student Requirements: None

Tutor: Steve Cox - Church elder, home builder and general handyman

Cost: $60 / student / term


High School Math Tutoring

This is an opportunity for high school age students to receive tutoring in areas of Math that is proving troublesome for student and parent alike. Some Math curriculum will be provided and worked through, however in addition to this, students are required to bring their regular math curriculum each week, with questions and/or lessons circled that have been difficult to grasp. In a group setting and working side by side, we will work toward filling the gaps that have formed within student’s understanding of key math concepts.

Age Suitability: 12-16 yrs of age

Group Size: 15 Maximum

Student Requirements: Pencil and paper, BYO Math curriculum

Tutor: Dave Ramsay - High School Math teacher with Australian Christian College.

Cost: $70 / student / term


Primary School Math Tutoring

This is an opportunity for primary age students to receive tutoring in areas of Math that is proving troublesome for student and parent alike. Students are required to bring their regular math curriculum each week, with questions and/or lessons circled that have been difficult to grasp. In a group setting and working side by side, we will put the fun back into math, and work toward filling the gaps that have formed within student’s understanding of foundational math concepts.

Age Suitability: 6-11 yrs of age

Group Size: 5 maximum

Student Requirements: Pencil and paper, BYO Math Curriculum

Tutor: Mike Bezant - Pastor, home school math tutor

Cost: $50 / student / term


The Bible and Your Future

How can we know what will happen in our future? The God of the Bible has laid out for us a glorious future in His word, and it is a future full of joy, hope, peace and beauty. It’s not a secret, God wants you to know His plans - ‘For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.’ - Jeremiah 29:11

We have a future and a hope, and it’s glorious. During this class we are going to open the Bible together, and discover the promises and plans that God has for you. As we do, students will be challenged to let God’s future and hope for us, guide how we live for Jesus Christ today!

Age Suitability: 12+ yrs of age

Group Size: 20 maximum

Student Requirements: Bible, notebook, pen and pencil.

Agricultural Engineering

"Engineering is using one's creativity and an understanding of math, science and materials to solve problems." In this class students will engage in hands-on learning about the engineering design process, key elements of pollination and animals associated with the process, problem solving, team-work and how to solve an engineering design challenge. Along the way, students will be involved in hands-on discovery, lots of creating, experiments and working in teams to solve problems. All equipment and materials will be provided.

Age Suitability: 7-9 yrs of age (extension can be provided for 10-12 yrs of age)

Group Size: 20 maximum

Child Requirements: Come ready to learn (Basic reading and writing skills required)
